Spread Kindness. Not Clutter.

We here at Clean Lines love what we do...changing lives is pretty magical!  And we truly wish that our little company could help everyone. So as a start, we would like to begin a new program to give back and spread a little kindness. Twice a year we will donate a virtual consultation, 5 hours of professional organizing, and $500 of product to someone who could really use the help. All you have to do is fill out the form below to be considered.

Meet Jessica

Spread kindness not clutter recipient.

Lesley and Jessica in her gorgeous new pantry.

Our first recipient for 2022 is Jessica, and she just so happens to be the inspiration for this initiative. Jessica and I met at The University of Mary Washington, sophomore year in the Education Program. We were roommates our senior year and kept in touch since our graduation in 2000. Jessica reached out about organizing, but it just wasn't in the cards for last year. That's when I decided I wanted to help. Not only did her pantry need a major overhaul, but as someone in an often thankless job, I felt she just needed, and deserved, a big thank you in her life. Jessica has been teaching elementary school for an astounding 22 years! As a former 3rd grade teacher that only lasted 3 years...I can attest to the strength, dedication, and devotion of this woman.

While teaching, Jessica has been through enough to make your heart break. After going to doctor after doctor for 8 years, she was finally diagnosed with a very rare type of ovarian cancer- Sertoli-Leydig. She has been through 3 surgeries including a hysterectomy. After being in remission, she was faced with a breast cancer scare and lumpectomy this past fall.

But throughout all the years of constant worry and doctors appointments, Jessica's bright spot was meeting her wife Dawn in 2017. Dawn is also in education and specializes in Special Ed. These two tremendous women are also helping Dawn's mother who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

I know it's been very difficult to remain positive, but Jessica is working through it with Dawn and their two adorable pups, Bentley and Winston. They love to travel, especially to the beach, and take their dogs on hikes. I'm so happy that I was able to play a part in saying thank you to someone who has been through so very much.

Jessica, we hope your new pantry brings you much joy for years to come! Thank you for all that you have given over the years to so many students. You are amazing!

Lots of love,

Lesley and the Clean Lines Organizing Team

Meet Sarah

Our second recipient for 2022 was Sarah. As soon as I read her application, I knew I wanted to help. Sarah suffers from postpartum depression and was drowning after the birth of her third child. As someone who experienced first hand how debilitating this depression is, I wanted to help as much as I could. Enter Clean Lines Organizing! After speaking with Sarah, I learned she wanted to turn her living room into a learning environment for the kids. I saw photos of the space and how it flowed into the kitchen and I knew I wanted to tackle both spaces. I went shopping for some products to use for organizing in the kitchen and the home school area and my assistant and I got to work! We cleaned out both spaces and relocated some lesser used items to the basement. Sarah now has clear countertops, a more efficiently organized kitchen that only stores kitchen items, and a less stressful living room/learning environment/playroom.

Sarah and her beautiful family. .

I hope that this initiative helped to start the healing process for Sarah so she can better care for herself and her beautiful family. Despite everything she was going through, the love and devotion to her family shone through and I was so happy to be able to help. Sarah did tell me that organizing is something that once brought her great joy....I hope that it once again can spark joy for this amazing mama!

Meet Mary

Reaching out for help, acknowledging that there is a problem, and hearing the hard truths about how to fix it can be the most difficult part of the organizing process. But our third recipient faced those fears and contacted me. In order to do it right I knew she needed some assistance so we donated $1,000 worth of our time to complete 2 rooms that were completely overwhelming her. Sometimes life just happens and all of sudden you don't know which way to turn. We are so proud of how hard she worked. 2 organizers put in 18 hours over 2 days and she was right there with us. It was emotional, physical, humbling, time consuming, and exhausting. She still has a few more spaces to tackle in her home but she has the right mindset and a great head start and I know she will get there. I neglected to get good before and after photos of her bedroom, but here we are, 2 organizers, 18 hours, 2 rooms, 30 bags of trash and 30 bags of donation later!

Lots of love,

Lesley and the Clean Lines Organizing Team

Meet Katy

Our fourth recipient touched my heart for a number of reasons. Recently widowed with 2 teenaged boys to raise, I knew I needed to help. Katy is a librarian in the Baltimore area and was in real need of something good to happen just for her. I was thrilled to be able to transform her closet and bring her a daily dose of happiness. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to clear out your husband's belongings after a sudden passing, but Katy was ready to face it and I'm so glad she contacted us. We removed everything and cleaned the closet. We added new hangers and baskets with labels and she did an amazing job of purging and making difficult decisions. She now has a beautiful closet that is a space just for her.
